 World Record Holder for the 17.5 mile Ederle Swim (2011)
 68th person to complete the Open Water Triple Crown (2013)
Successful crossing of the English Channel (2009)
Completed the Swim around Manhattan Island (2009 & 2010)
Successful crossing of the Catalina Channel (2013)
Swam Division 1 at St John’s University


Coaching 

Lance is a US Masters Certified Level 4 Coach and is currently the Head Coach of the Palmetto Masters Swim Team in Mount Pleasant, SC. In 2016, he coached the Palmetto Masters to a second place finish at USMS Spring Nationals. Prior to this he was the Head Coach of Chelsea Piers Masters Swim Team in NYC.

Lance has studied extensively with Swim Smooth co-founders Paul Newsome and Adam Young in Loughborough England and in Perth Australia and believes whole heartedly in their method of teaching swimming. Lance provides expert video analysis, stroke correction and fundamentals of swimming based on the Swim Smooth method. He has traveled the country performing camps and clinics in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, California, Florida, DC and South Carolina.

Lance started his company, Ogren Swim Coaching, in 2015. His passion lies in open water swimming, teaching learn to swim, and helping people achieve their swimming goals.
